Multigenerational Faith Catching a Vision for Your Grandchildren By John Sleadd
I tell my own five children that God holds me accountable for training them with a Biblical worldview so that they, in turn, might raise their own future children in godliness. When we view our parental responsibilities as a long term investment in more than a single generation of Christians, we are more likely to resist the trends of the unbelieving culture which lure us into materialistic, autonomous individualism.
Woman Come Home: My Journey from Career Woman to Contented Homemaker By Arden Sleadd
During my engagement to John in 1983, we watched the film series, “Focus on the Family” with Dr. James Dobson. The film was new at the time, and very helpful to us in discussing how we would raise our future family. We agreed that it would be best if I were able to stay home fulltime with the children once they were born; but in the meantime, we had college debts to pay off, and John still had coursework to finish, so we delayed starting our family, and I continued to work as I had done before we married.
The Case For Family- Integrated Worship
For a number of years now research data have been revealing the loss of churched youth to the culture and the failure of church programs to curb the tide. Here are some excerpts of that data to remind us of the urgent need to reconsider how we train our children in the faith. Read more on family -integrated worship
Home Discipleship: What does it look like? My wife, Arden, and I homeschool for many reasons, some of them biblical, others personal and practical. We have been blessed abundantly by the privilege to disciple our own children in the Christian faith right here in our own home, and we have avoided many troubles. While home schooling has its own set of problems, it does provide many benefits. Read the Sleadd story here: Newsletter Home Education link
Youth Programs Critiqued Youth ministry has become big business because parents would rather put kids in a program than have to do it themselves. Youth ministries would be unnecessary if the believers took their biblical mandate to parent seriously. - Youth Pastor Ray Bauman

Should Christians have their children in public school? This article sent to me by a friend, might be of interest to you. The question it raises is this: Can a sound Christian education be found in government schools where faith is marginalized or censored? If not, then what are we to do? I’d be delighted to hear your opinion on how we can better help parents disciple their children. Baptist 'exit strategy' means get kids out of secular state schools God Bless, John Sleadd

Clarion Forensics Club is a great way to motivate students to excel in writing, in research, and in communication skills. For four years we have found that our students shift into academic high gear when the elements of competition and companionship are present. Developing Christian character and the ability to speak effectively are our main goals. A group of dedicated homeschool dads serve as coaches for this fantastic bunch of teens.
